From Golden, County Tipperary, James Stack is universally known as "Fozzy". He took over his father Tommy's training licence at the beginning of the 2017 Flat season and enjoyed a dream start when his first runner, Gino Severini, ridden by Chris Hayes, won the Palmerstown House Madrid Handicap at Naas on March 26 that year. Two weeks later, Fozzy landed the Group 3 Gladness Stakes with Diamond Fields at Naas and just a few months later, he also won the Group 3 Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown with Alexios Kommenos.

Fozzy won his first Group 2 with Aloha Star at the Curragh in July, 2020 and he notched up his first top-level success with Aspen Grove, ridden by Oisin Murphy, in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks in July, 2023.

The likes of Son Of Rest, Sirici, Zihba, Lady Wannabe, Castle Star, Too Soon To Panic, Hermana Estrella and Aussie Girl have also given Stack notable racecourse success.
