Denis O'Regan leading the way as the horse jumps over the fence at Clonmel Racecourse

Clonmel racecourse also known as Powerstown Park is a well-regarded, undulating, right-handed racecourse with a noted stiff uphill run to the winning line.

One of three racecourses in Tipperary, it is the only one that races throughout the year, hosting a total of 12 meetings under both flat and jump rules.

Located just 2km from Clonmel town, this racecourse is dual-purpose catering for both flat and jump racing. It is best known for hosting extremely competitive jump races during the Autumn and Winter months.

The Clonmel Oil Chase, run every year in November, has attracted many top horses, including old favourites Doran’s Pride, War Of Attrition, Sizing Europe and Imperial Call.

The track holds three Grades races through the course of the year. With an exciting atmosphere surrounding the course the viewing of racing from all points in the enclosure is exceptional.
