TIMELESS SASH WINDOWS TO SPONSOR THE GRADE 1 IRISH CHAMPION HURDLE AT DUBLIN RACING FESTIVAL

Monday, January 26, 2026

Grade 1 rivals Lossiemouth (farside) and Brighterdaysahead (nearside) meet again on Sunday 1st February, following their one-two finish in the Grade 1 December Hurdle at Leopardstown recently.

Timeless Sash Windows has been unveiled as the new sponsor of the Grade 1 Irish Champion Hurdle, which will be run at Leopardstown Racecourse on Sunday, 1st February, the second day of Dublin Racing Festival 2026.

Timeless Sash Windows is a family-run joinery business based in Meath, with over 50 years’ experience specialising in the manufacture and refurbishment of period sash windows. The family has been actively involved with racehorse ownership and has an existing relationship sponsoring at Leopardstown, and are now taking their support to the next level by sponsoring one of race highlights of the season.

Run over two miles, the Grade 1 contest is one of jump racing’s most prestigious races and boasts a prize fund of €200,000. Established in 1950, its illustrious roll of honour includes some of the sport’s most celebrated names such as Hatton’s Grace, Flying Bolt, L’Escargot, Istabraq and in more recent years, Hurricane Fly, Honeysuckle, Apple’s Jade, and State Man.

This year’s renewal looks to be an exciting rematch between Willie Mullin’s Lossiemouth and Gordon Elliott’s Brighterdaysahead, following a one-two in the Grade 1 December Hurdle recently. Mullins’ El Fabiolo, Ballyburn, and last year’s Triumph Hurdle hero, Poniros, are among the potential starters. UK trainer Kerry Lee has also entered Nemean Lion, a close third in the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Mark Clayton, CEO of Leopardstown Racecourse said “We are delighted to welcome Timeless Sash Windows as sponsor of the Irish Champion Hurdle. Their continued support of racing at Leopardstown and their decision to back one of our premier races reflects a strong commitment to the sport, and we look forward to working closely with them at the Dublin Racing Festival.”

Barry Callaghan, Managing Director of Timeless Sash Windows said “Racing has been a big part of our families over many years, which we enjoy in many facets.  Leopardstown is a wonderful track and to have a race where we have the best hurdlers, trainers, and jockeys in the world compete, is something special.

“The Irish Champion Hurdle is a great fit for us a company as we strive for excellence in our field, just as the competitors of the race do too. We are really looking forward to a great day of sport.”

Tickets to day two of Dublin Racing Festival on Sunday, 1st February are available from €45. Race day entertainment will feature JockeyCam, a unique 360 virtual reality technology that allows racegoers to have a completely immersive experience, feeling the exhilaration and speed of riding in a race through the eyes of a professional jockey. The marquee will be headlined by popular Irish trad acts, Wolfhound, while Electra Trad will perform in the Racing Hall.
