• Student Internship Programme

The Horse Racing Ireland Student Internship Programme was launched in 2014 and is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain industry experience and enhance their CVs. Students will benefit from mentoring by experienced professionals while developing their practical skills and gaining a competitive edge for when they enter the job market.

Students from colleges and universities across the country have the opportunity to compete for a number of paid internships with Horse Racing Ireland. Placements are made in each of the four HRI racecourses: Fairyhouse, NavanLeopardstown and Tipperary as well as HRI headquarters in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

The internships begin in early June and run for 10-12 weeks with each intern asked to keep a log book and write a short blog on their experience.

Applications are accepted from students from all backgrounds with an interest in the promotion of racing and the sport itself. The programme is open to students in any year of any course.

Students at the four HRI tracks are required to assist in many areas of racecourse operations such as marketing, ticket sales, social media, website maintenance and race day operations. The head-office-based intern will work in the marketing department and assist with media monitoring, racecourse events, social media and website maintenance.
