Horse Racing Ireland is a commercial semi-state body whose mission is to develop and promote Ireland as a world centre of excellence for horse racing and breeding.  

The Photo Finish system is operated by Horse Racing Ireland on all 26 Irish Racecourses ensuring a fully electronic High Definition Photo Finish and results service is provided.  The Photo Finish is a critical function to ensure the integrity of racing and we are now seeking to recruit a Photo Finish Operator to join the team on a casual basis.

The Role:

• Install and operate photographic, computer, mirrors, timing and audio-visual equipment to produce photo finish images
• Develop a strong working knowledge of the software and its capabilities
• Provide efficient daily support and assistance to the Judge and Photo Finish team. To include the setup at each track, some heavy lifting will be required
• Ensure each horse is accurately placed and accurate data is sent to service providers
• Follow all company procedures and protocol

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Strong IT skills with an electronic and/or technical background are an advantage.  A problem solver with proven field service experience with the ability to multitask and work to deadlines.  A team player working as part of a team and on their own initiative with excellent organisational and communication skills. An interest in the racing industry would be an advantage. Full training will be provided for the ideal candidate.

This role will require the successful candidate to drive the company vehicles regularly and to be available to work weekends, public holidays and during the busy Christmas period.
