Racecourse of the Year to be announced at the HRI Awards
Thursday, November 29, 2012
A new award, Racecourse of the Year, will be added to this year's Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) racing awards which will be held at Leopardstown Racecourse on December 10th.
The winning racecourse will be selected by the members of the Racegoers' Consultative Forum (RCF) who have completed raceday reports, including racecourse customer service standards, at every racecourse in the country throughout the year. The establishment of a racecourse award was one of the recommendations of the Strategic Marketing Review Group, designed to recognise and reward exceptional levels of customer service by a racecourse.
Announcing the introduction of the award, Noel Cloake, Chairman of the RCF and Board member of HRI said:- "The Forum members are the eyes and ears of every racegoer in the country. They have been enthusiastic and diligent in visiting racecourses and recording every facet of the racegoers' experience and are therefore the best possible judges as to which racecourse deserves this award."
It is intended that the award will be an annual event at the Horse Racing Ireland awards. The 2012 winner will be based on the members' overall evaluation of racecourse performance based on the race day reports prepared for meetings of the Forum. Details of an expanded set of criteria for 2013, including recognition for excellence in specific areas of customer service, will be announced at the awards ceremony on December 10th.
