Paul Nolan is toying with the idea of sending stable star Discorama across to Newbury later this month for the Ladbrokes Trophy, writes David Jennings.

Discorama has finished runner-up at the last two Cheltenham Festivals, most recently when narrowly denied by Le Breuil in the National Hunt Chase in March, and made a pleasing reappearance at Wexford last month when chasing home Champagne Classic.

Nolan thinks there is more to come from Discorama and expects him to improve for his reappearance but must decide between the Troytown Chase at Navan or the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury.

Nolan said: "The Ladbrokes Trophy is definitely an option and we're loving all this rain for him anyway. He will either go to Newbury or to Navan for the Troytown. You would worry that he might lack a bit of experience for a Ladbrokes Trophy but, if it were to come up heavy, the field might not be as big maybe and that would suit.

The trainer added: "We were happy enough with his first run back at Newbury. He didn't win, but it was a lovely start and he will come on for it."
