Go Another One makes an impromptu raid to Uttoxeter in search of a second success in the UK this month.
The promising seven-year-old romped home by 31 lengths in a five-runner affair at Worcester and just has two rivals on Wednesday as he bids to follow up in the Wade Ceramics Novices’ Chase over three miles in Staffordshire.
Trainer John McConnell was originally planning to wait for Cheltenham’s October meeting, after Worcester, but changed his mind when this opportunity arose.
Only Olly Murphy’s Angel Of Harlem and Aytach Sadik’s You’re The Man stand in the way of Go Another One picking up the £7,000 first prize.
“We just looked at entries last week, and I noticed there wasn’t a big entry in the race, and Uttoxeter put on good prize money – so we entered him, and it looks like a good opportunity,” said the County Meath handler.
“He’s going to be cantering at home, so he might as well do it on the track, and hopefully he jumps round and comes back safe.”
McConnell is still intending to then take Go Another One to Cheltenham.
He added: “It’s not a walkover. He’ll get a nice schooling and a bit of competition.
“It’s great to get more jumping into him.
“If all went well tomorrow, we’ll head to the October meeting at Cheltenham. Even if he got beaten, we’d probably still go there.”
