Beau back in search of more Dundalk gains

Beau Warrior bids to pick up where she left off when returning to action at Dundalk on Friday night.

Ado McGuinness’ charge was in flying form at the all-weather venue before the turn of the year when rattling off a hat-trick on the Polytrack surface.

The filly won her first nursery off a rating of 55 and is now rated 81 as she steps up in grade in the Racing Post Race over six furlongs.

She was last seen recording a gutsy short-head victory over Colfer Me over seven at the Louth venue in mid-December and the runner-up went on to frank the form.

The drop back to six will not be a problem now for the Declaration Of War filly, who had been impressive at the trip on her previous two wins, and connections will be hoping she can continue her progression after a holiday.

Empire Line also drops back to six in the winners’ contest after taking a seven-furlong maiden at the course last time.

He gave his backers a fright here last month when diving to his left inside the final furlong before holding on late on to record a half-length win.

The Fozzy Stack-trained colt looks to have ability, however, and with that win under his belt he could be a big player in this grade.

McGuinness will also be hoping to continue a good campaign at the all-weather venue with Georgian Bay in the claimer earlier on the card.

The Oratorio gelding has already landed a similar contest at the venue this winter and looks the one to beat on ratings in the extended 10-furlong event.

An interesting rival is the smart jumper Chateau Conti who tries his hand on the level after a disappointed campaign over obstacles.

His jumping let him down over fences before a disappointing show over timber at Clonmel on his last outing in December.

The French-bred was rated 142 at his best over hurdles and if he can recapture his old spark he could be a big player.
