Heliac hunting hat-trick

Wednesday, Aug 14 2019

Heliac goes for a hat-trick in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap at Leopardstown.

Ger Lyons’ runner has won at Cork and Roscommon on her last two starts, and is sure to be a popular choice on Thursday in what looks a competitive 10-furlong event.

Minnie Haha, Anya Ylina and Cuban Surfer were also last-time-out winners- while top weight Innamorare was only narrowly beaten at Galway last time.

Aidan O’Brien fields three in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, with Mythic aiming to build on her debut third at Galway.

The Ballydoyle handler also has Darkest and newcomer Peaceful in the seven-furlong heat – while Dermot Weld runs Tasalka, who was fourth on her first run.

Silk Forest holds a Group Three entry later in the month, and she returns from a lay-off in the All Saints Irish EBF Maiden after finishing second on her first couple of starts for Paddy Twomey.

Weld’s Moondrop appears to be among the leading hopes in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden – with Denis Hogan running both Atlas and Lincoln in the Manguard Plus Claiming Race.

Jessica Harrington’s Claim The Lady heads into the Grant Thornton Apprentice Handicap on the back of a win at Naas, with Tom Madden once again in the plate.
